I have a confession to make.  For some strange reason, I’ve been craving green smoothies.  This isn’t a problem.  But, it feels like an odd addiction.  Maybe it’s just because I’m still in love with my new Vitamix blender.  Seriously, what doesn’t this thing do?  In any case, if you are in the market for a new smoothie that sneaks some veggies into your day, you might want to try this bad boy out.  Healthy protein, Omega-3 fats from chia seeds and fiber from the spinach, bananas and dates.  Even your friends and family scared of green drinks will like this.  I promise.

  • 1 cup vanilla soy milk
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 ½ cups of baby spinach
  • 3 deglet noor dates (pitted, of course)
  • ½ frozen banana
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
  • Ice (depending on how thick/thin you want your smoothie)

Add the milks, yogurt and spinach to the blender.  Put the dates, banana and chia seeds in on top and fire it up.  Blend until combined.  Enjoy!
